Crew Report. Day # 3

Day 3

Today was the best day yet! We were happy to get all of our plumbing working properly (most importantly the shower) and we were glad to have made it through the night without any pipes freezing. Eggs and bacon (Bacon!!) for breakfast then for lunch we had the best PB+J and PB+B (that’s Peanut Butter and Banana) sandwiches with some small snacks on the side. For dinner we are having Chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy… maybe tonight we’ll start in on the ice cream (Yum!).

We had another late afternoon EVA today, Travis drove the rover and Tim collected some rock samples in the NDX-2AT suit while Erica stayed back at the habitat to monitor our radio communications.

It was a bit chilly in the rover and in the suit but we wore enough clothing to keep warm (and thanks to the ground crew for pre-heating the rover some!). Tomorrow it will be Erica’s turn in the spacesuit! We can’t wait to see ourselves on WDAZ again tonight and we’re amazed at all the different places we’ve been broadcasted so far (Las Vegas, Phoenix, Cleveland, California, Georgia and more!).
